Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team in Chennai. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our core Mainframe Systems . The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in COBOL and related technologies, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Mainframe applications. This includes participating in Code Reviews , adhering to established Coding Standards , and supporting Release Activities . The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality code. Required Skills & Qualifications Mainframe Systems : Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and working within Mainframe environments. Mainframe DB : Experience with Mainframe database concepts and management. DB2 : Solid understanding of DB2 database administration and query optimization. COBOL : Strong COBOL programming skills, including the ability to write, debug, and maintain COBOL code. JCL : Proficiency in writing and executing JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing. Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Problem-Solving Skills : Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner. Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Technical Design : Ability to participate in the design and development of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements. Code Reviews : Experience participating in and conducting Code Reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. Coding Standards : A commitment to adhering to and enforcing established Coding Standards . Release Activities : Experience supporting Release Activities , including testing and deployment. Experience Required: 4 - 10 years of experience in Mainframe development. This level of experience indicates a seasoned professional capable of working independently and contributing to complex projects.
