Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dyno Test Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for conducting performance and durability testing on electric motors and motor controllers using dynamometer systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical principles, motor testing methodologies, and a commitment to ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. This is an onsite position.
Key Responsibilities
The Dyno Test Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Operating and maintaining dynamometer systems, ensuring accurate and reliable test data.
- Setting up and configuring test procedures to evaluate the performance and durability of AC/DC motors, BLDC motors, PMSM motors, and Induction Motors.
- Executing load profiles and analyzing test results to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Utilizing test automation systems to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and resolving test stand issues, including hardware integration problems and wiring verification.
- Performing root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5Why to address identified issues.
- Conducting electrical fault finding and sensor diagnosis to ensure accurate test results.
- Performing necessary repairs and maintenance on test equipment, including PCBA rework, component replacement, soldering, and desoldering.
- Preparing test setup and ensuring proper wire harness assembly and cable assembly.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:
- A Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in a testing or engineering role, with a focus on motor testing and dynamometer operation. This level of experience indicates a proficiency in independently designing and executing test plans, analyzing data, and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Proficiency in Dynamometer operation and setup, including the ability to configure and calibrate systems for various testing scenarios.
- Strong understanding of Motor and inverter testing methodologies, including performance characterization and durability assessment.
- Experience with Performance and durability testing techniques, including the ability to design and execute tests to evaluate product lifespan and reliability.
- Familiarity with Test automation systems and the ability to develop and implement automated test procedures.
- Solid foundation in Power electronics fundamentals, including an understanding of AC/DC motors, BLDC, PMSM, and Induction Motors.
- Knowledge of Motor controllers and Inverters, including their operation and testing.
- Commitment to High-voltage safety practices and adherence to safety protocols.
- Proficiency in performing Electrical measurements and utilizing Instrumentation, including Torque transducers, Speed encoders, Thermocouples, RTDs, Current probes, and Voltage measurement systems.
- Experience using Oscilloscopes and Power analyzers for data acquisition and analysis.
