SSTL-Closure Design

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an SSTL-Closure Design engineer. This role will be responsible for the design and development of closure systems for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD design software, and a proven ability to solve complex technical challenges. This is an onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

The SSTL-Closure Design engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Developing concept designs for closure components, including hoods, fenders, liftgates, tailgates, side doors, and manual tops.
• Performing feasibility studies to evaluate the technical and economic viability of proposed designs.
• Creating detailed CAD models and drawings using UG NX and CATIA.
• Conducting technical reviews to ensure design quality and adherence to specifications.
• Supporting vehicle integration activities to ensure proper fit and function of closure systems.
• Addressing closure product problem solving.
• Ensuring compliance with homologation and regulation compliance requirements.
• Working with press, stamping, and Hemming processes.
• Managing CFT Convergence.

• CAD Design: Proficiency in CAD design software, including UG NX and CATIA.
• Team Centre: Experience with Team Centre for data management.
• PLM: Familiarity with PLM systems.
• Closure Components: Strong understanding of closure components, including hardware and sealing systems.
• Door Modules: Experience with door modules.
• Window Regulator: Knowledge of window regulator systems.
• Sealings: Understanding of sealings.
• Sheet Metal: Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• OEM Experience: Experience working with OEMs.
• Team Oriented: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Self-Starter: Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
• B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech – Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical engineering

Experience Required: 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on closure systems design. This level of experience indicates a senior-level role requiring a high degree of technical expertise and the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
