Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Core Team Engineer to join our team. This role will be based onsite and will contribute to the design and development of closure systems within the automotive/manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
The Core Team Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks related to closure parts design, manufacturing, and quality assurance. This includes design optimization, problem-solving, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: A B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech degree in Mechanical / Automotive engineering is required.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to closure systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Closure Parts Design: Expertise in the design and development of closure parts, ensuring functionality, durability, and manufacturability.
- Closure Systems Design: Comprehensive understanding of closure systems design principles, including mechanisms, sealing, and kinematics.
- Product Life Cycle Management: Familiarity with Product Life Cycle Management principles and their application to automotive components.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including Die Process, Spot Welding, and Sheet Metal Design.
- MIS: Experience with MIS (Management Information Systems) for data analysis and reporting.
- QFS, QUI, TGW: Proficiency in utilizing QFS, QUI, and TGW for quality assurance and process control.
- Functional Science Knowledge: Strong foundation in Functional Science principles for understanding and optimizing system performance.
- DMU Analysis: Ability to perform DMU Analysis (Digital Mock-up) to identify and resolve design issues.
- DVPR: Knowledge of DVPR (Design Verification Plan and Report) processes and requirements.
- DFMEA: Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for risk assessment and mitigation.
- Design for Manufacturing: Expertise in Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
- Weight Optimization: Ability to apply Weight Optimization techniques to minimize component weight without compromising performance.
- Cost Optimization: Experience in Cost Optimization strategies to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Sheet Metal Design Aspects: Thorough understanding of Sheet Metal Design principles and best practices.
- Formability: Knowledge of Formability considerations in sheet metal design.
- Mechanism: Strong understanding of mechanical Mechanism principles.
- Sealing: Expertise in Sealing technologies and their application to automotive closure systems.
- CDL Analysis: Ability to perform CDL Analysis (Crash Duration Limit) to ensure safety performance.
- Kinematic Simulation: Proficiency in Kinematic Simulation tools for analyzing system motion and performance.
- GD&T: Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Sheet Materials: Familiarity with various Sheet Materials and their properties.
- Sheet Metal Welding Process: Understanding of Sheet Metal Welding Process.
- Benchmarking: Ability to conduct Benchmarking studies to identify best practices and competitive advantages.
- Tear Down Activities: Experience in performing Tear Down Activities to analyze competitor products.
- Regulatory Requirements: Knowledge of relevant Regulatory Requirements for automotive components.
- Teamcenter: Proficiency in using Teamcenter for data management and collaboration.
- Costing: Ability to perform Costing analysis for component design and manufacturing.
- Testing: Experience in designing and executing Testing plans to validate component performance.
- Welding Fixture Design: Ability to design Welding Fixture.
- Gun Access Study: Ability to perform Gun Access Study.
- Painting: Knowledge of Painting process.
- Vendor Development: Experience in Vendor Development.
- SCMP: Knowledge of SCMP (Supply Chain Management Process).
- Panel Defect Identification: Ability to perform Panel Defect Identification.
- Correction: Ability to perform Correction.
Experience Required: The ideal candidate will have 6 - 9 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the automotive or manufacturing industry. This level of experience indicates a strong foundation in closure systems design and a proven ability to solve complex technical challenges.
