Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer to join our team within the Aerospace industry. This is an onsite position requiring a strong foundation in electrical and electronic design principles, with a focus on power electronics and embedded systems. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the hardware development lifecycle and be adept at navigating complex design challenges.
Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities throughout the entire hardware development lifecycle, from initial requirements definition to final product validation and certification. You will be responsible for the design, development, verification, and validation of electrical and electronic systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and rigorous quality control.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Electrical Design: Demonstrated proficiency in electrical circuit design, including schematic capture and layout.
Electronic Design: Expertise in electronic circuit design, encompassing both analog and digital domains.
Inverter Design: Experience designing and implementing inverter systems for various applications.
Converter Design: Ability to design and optimize converter topologies, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters.
Hardware Development Life Cycle: A thorough understanding of the complete hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production.
Requirements Management: Skill in defining, documenting, and managing system requirements.
Design: Ability to translate requirements into functional and manufacturable designs.
Development: Experience in the development of electrical and electronic systems.
Verification & Validation (V&V): Expertise in verification and validation methodologies to ensure product quality and reliability.
Qualification & Certification Testing: Familiarity with qualification and certification testing procedures.
AC-DC & DC-DC Converters: Deep understanding of AC-DC and DC-DC converter principles and applications.
Motor Inverters: Experience in the design and implementation of motor inverter systems.
Switching Devices & Gate Driver Selection: Knowledge of switching devices and the ability to select appropriate gate drivers.
Modulation Techniques: Understanding of various modulation techniques and their application in power electronics.
Filter Design: Ability to design and implement filters for signal conditioning and noise reduction.
Power Semiconductors: Expertise in Si Power Semiconductors, Silicon Carbide (SiC) Power Semiconductors, and Gallium Nitride (GaN) Power Semiconductors.
Power Electronics: Strong foundation in power electronics principles and applications.
Analog Circuits: Proficiency in designing and analyzing analog circuits, including Op-Amp, Buffers, and Signal Conditioning circuits.
Digital Logic Circuits: Understanding of digital logic circuits and their implementation.
Microcontroller-Based Systems: Experience in designing and implementing microcontroller-based systems.
Peripheral Interfaces: Knowledge of common peripheral interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
Communication Interfaces: Experience with communication protocols like Ethernet.
Microcontroller, FPGA, Processor: Familiarity with microcontroller, FPGA, and processor architectures.
Memory: Understanding of different memory types, including RAM and Flash Memory.
Low-Power Operation: Ability to design for low-power operation and optimize energy efficiency.
Power Budgeting: Skill in creating and managing power budgets.
Energy Efficiency: Commitment to designing energy-efficient systems.
FMEA: Experience conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Stress Analysis, Derating, Worst-Case Analysis, Tolerance Study: Ability to perform stress analysis, derating, worst-case analysis, and tolerance studies.
DO-160, DO178, DO254, IEC, SAE: Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as DO-160, DO178, DO254, IEC, and SAE.
Certification Processes: Understanding of certification processes and requirements.
Embedded Design: Experience in embedded system design.
PCB Design: Knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design principles.
EMI/EMC: Understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations.
Product Lifecycle Management: Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) principles.
Simulation Tools: Proficiency in using simulation tools such as Pspice, Matlab, Simulink, and PLECS.
Domain Expertise: Experience in the Automotive Domain, Aero Domain, or Defense Domain.
High Power Design: Ability to design for high-power applications.
Layout Rules: Knowledge of layout rules for power electronics.
EMI/EMC Certification: Experience with EMI and EMC certification processes.
Environmental Compliances: Understanding of environmental compliance requirements.
CE, E Markings: Familiarity with certifications such as CE and E Markings.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Hardware Design Development: Strong skills in hardware design and development.
