CFD Modeler Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated CFD Modeler to join our team in Chennai. This role is ideal for an individual with a foundational understanding of computational fluid dynamics and a passion for contributing to complex engineering projects within the IT / Technology industry. Key Responsibilities The CFD Modeler will be responsible for developing and refining computational models to simulate and analyze fluid flow and thermal behavior. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translating those needs into effective simulation strategies. Required Skills & Qualifications Educational Background: A Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Master of Engineering (M.E) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) is required. Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience in a related field is expected. This level of experience indicates a foundational understanding of the field and the ability to work with moderate supervision. ANSYS: Proficiency in ANSA is essential for pre-processing and mesh generation. CFD: A strong understanding of CFD principles and their application to real-world engineering problems is required. Thermal System Model: Experience in developing and utilizing Thermal System Model simulations to analyze heat transfer and thermal behavior. Material Expertise: Familiarity with the simulation of materials such as Rubber and Plastic , including their unique properties and behavior under various conditions. Part Structure Management: Ability to effectively manage and analyze Part Structure within simulation models. Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills , both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration and clear presentation of results. Interpersonal Skills: Strong Interpersonal Skills are required to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Team Spirit: A demonstrated Team Spirit and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare CFD models by cleaning CAD geometry and generating high-quality meshes. Create and manage PIDs, connections, and assembly-level models. Perform geometry, mesh, and model quality checks. Support basic boundary condition setup and STAR-CCM+ solver deck preparation. Follow modelling standards, participate in reviews, and maintain model documentation. Required ANSA Skills Geometry cleanup and topology management. PID/PART management and connection creation. Shell meshing, quality improvement, and batch meshing. Mesh editing (Remeshing, Refine, Smooth, Reshape). Basic CFD volume meshing (Tetra/Poly, Boundary Layers). Model diagnostics, morphing, and basic ANSA scripting knowledge. Desired Skills Basic understanding of CFD, fluid flow, and thermal simulations. Strong focus on model quality and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills. Interest in automation and process improvement. Qualification & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering. 1-2 years of hands-on experience in ANSA CFD model build, including component, subsystem, or full assembly models.
