Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operations Lead to join our team in either Chennai or Pune. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse, supporting our automotive operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse best practices and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities

The Warehouse Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance. This includes, but is not limited to, managing inventory, coordinating with the supply chain, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Warehouse Operations: Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management principles, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
• Inventory Management: Proficient in managing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, and minimizing losses.
• Supply Chain Coordination: Ability to effectively coordinate with other departments and external partners to ensure a smooth flow of materials.
• ERP & 0SAP: Experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP, for inventory tracking, order management, and reporting.
• Storage Optimization: Knowledge of storage optimization techniques to maximize warehouse space utilization.
• Continuous Improvement: A commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
• Lean & 5S: Familiarity with Lean principles and 5S methodology for creating a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
• Safety & Compliance: A strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements within a warehouse environment.
• Performance Management: Ability to monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve individual and team results.
• Budget Management: Experience in managing a budget and controlling costs within a warehouse operation.
• Asset Management: Responsible for the proper maintenance and management of warehouse assets.
• Quality Management: Ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures throughout the warehouse operation.
• Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counting: Proven ability to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation processes.
• Material Flow: Understanding of material flow principles and ability to optimize material handling processes.
• Risk Assessment: Ability to identify and assess potential risks within the warehouse environment and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and foster a collaborative environment.
• FIFO, GRN, PP, MM: Familiarity with FIFO (First-In, First-Out), GRN (Goods Received Note), PP (Production Planning), and MM (Materials Management) processes.
• EHS & OHAS: Knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) and OHAS (Occupational Health and Safety) standards.
• CAPEX & OPEX: Understanding of CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) and OPEX (Operating Expenditure) related to warehouse operations.

Qualifications: A Diploma [or] B-Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering is required.

Experience Required: A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and operational excellence. This level of experience indicates a seasoned professional capable of independently managing complex warehouse operations and leading a team of warehouse personnel.
