SOFTWARE ENGINEER - MCAD/DESIGN AUTOMATION

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Software Engineer - MCAD/Design Automation to join our team on-site. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing design automation solutions using CAD software and programming languages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and proficiency in CAD automation, programming languages, and software development principles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications that automate design tasks, improve productivity, and enhance overall design quality. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, CAD software, and programming languages, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement design automation solutions using CAD software and programming languages such as C++, C#, and VB.Net.
• Customize and automate CAD software using Siemens NX CAD Software and NX Open/UFunc API.
• Create and maintain software applications that improve productivity and design quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify design automation opportunities and implement solutions.
• Develop and maintain data structures and algorithms to support design automation applications.
• Integrate CAD software with other systems such as PLM Systems, SAP/ECTR, and Database Systems using API Integration.
• Utilize version control systems such as Team Foundation Server to manage code changes and collaborate with team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to design automation applications.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall quality of the codebase.

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in CAD automation and software development.

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in the following skills:

• CAD Automation: Experience with automating CAD tasks using programming languages and CAD software.
• Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Proficiency in OOP concepts and programming languages such as C++, C#, and VB.Net.
• Design Patterns: Understanding of design patterns and principles.
• API Integration: Experience with integrating CAD software with other systems using APIs.
• CAD Customization: Ability to customize CAD software using Siemens NX CAD Software and NX Open/UFunc API.
• Assembly, Modeling, and Drawing: Knowledge of CAD assembly, modeling, and drawing techniques.
• Data Structures and Algorithms: Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Cutting Tools and PLM Systems: Familiarity with cutting tools and PLM systems such as SAP/ECTR.
• Version Control Systems: Experience with version control systems such as Team Foundation Server.
• Database Systems: Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
• Analytical Skills, Logical Thinking, and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas.
