CAD Automation Engineer (NX Open)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CAD Automation Engineer (NX Open) to join our growing team. This role will focus on developing and implementing automation solutions within our Siemens NX environment, enhancing design efficiency and ensuring design quality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and a passion for leveraging automation to solve complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The CAD Automation Engineer (NX Open) will be responsible for the following:

• Develop and maintain NX Open applications to automate repetitive tasks and improve design workflows.
• Create and implement KBE Concepts and Rule-Based Design solutions to standardize design processes and ensure consistency.
• Design and implement Design Templates to streamline the creation of new parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Collaborate with design engineers to identify automation opportunities and develop tailored solutions.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing automation scripts and applications.
• Maintain version control of all automation code using Git.
• Document all automation solutions and provide training to end-users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in a CAD automation role, demonstrating a solid understanding of CAD/CAM/CAE principles. This level of experience indicates a proficiency in independently developing and implementing automation solutions, as well as collaborating effectively within a team.
• Proficiency in NX Open programming for automating tasks within Siemens NX.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Python, and VB.NET.
• Experience with NX Journaling for automating tasks within Siemens NX.
• Solid understanding of Mechanical Design Concepts, including GD&T and Drawing Standards.
• Familiarity with Data Structures and OOP Basics.
• Experience with Sketching, Part Modelling, Assemblies, and Drafting within Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of PLM systems, specifically Teamcenter.
• Experience with Excel VBA for automating tasks within Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in Scripting techniques.
• Familiarity with Automotive Components, BIW, Interiors, and Plastics.
• Understanding of Tooling processes.
• Excellent Communication Skills for effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
