DRE – Lighting & Vision

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced DRE – Lighting & Vision professional to join our team in Chennai. This role is crucial for the development and validation of lighting and vision systems within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

The DRE – Lighting & Vision will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and validation of lighting and vision components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and optimizing performance. This includes leading design kick-offs and approvals, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring homologation compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech).
• Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the automotive lighting and vision domain. This level of experience indicates a senior-level role requiring a proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Lighting and Vision System Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of Lighting and Vision System principles, including Forward Lighting, Rear Lighting, and Signal Lighting.
• Component Proficiency: Detailed knowledge of Lighting and Vision Components, including IRVM, Glass, and Cowl Screen Components.
• Electrical Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with EE Components and LED technology.
• Connector and Wiring Expertise: Proficiency in Connector Design, Pinouts, and PCB design. Understanding of Wiring Harness Selection Criteria is also required.
• Validation and Quality Assurance: Experience in creating and executing Validation Plans, conducting Part Testing, and performing FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Design and Development Methodologies: Strong understanding of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) and experience in Design Approval processes.
• Optimization Techniques: Ability to apply Weight Reduction and Value Optimization strategies to component selection and design.
• Standardization: Experience with Component Standardization initiatives.
• Technical Skills: Strong Problem Solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough Technical Reviews.
• Process Management: Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
• Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrated Team Building Skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Homologation: Knowledge of Homologation Compliance requirements.
